Necrotomie (USA) - Cult of the Dead (demo 1999)
DEATH METAL
Demo 1999
Self released
Necrotomie was formed sometime in the early nineties. Adam Kegg - guitars/vocals, Phil Newbaker - guitars, Gary Cogley - bass, Brian Rosian - drums. After several shows and two demos ("Rehearsal demo" , "Trephination"), Brian was replaced by drummer/vocalist Rick 'Slim' Boast. Then recording more demo material ("Cult of the Dead", various studio recordings) and playing mostly in the western Pennsylvania and Maryland areas. The local shows of Johnstown, Pa. were played with both original and cover tracks (by influencial bands like Possessed, Death, Grave, Autopsy, Slayer) to fill the time (occasionally, the only band playing from 10:00pm to 1:30am). Eventually, Adam decided to decline vocals to focus mainly on guitar. Vocalists Craig Stiles, later replaced by Jim Phillippi, had helped the band to evolve. Playing shows with bands like Lethal Prayer, Stumpgrinder, Rottrevore, Crepitus, Blood Coven, Mythic, and Lost Circus. Also opening shows for touring nationals like Morbid Angel, Death, Deceased, OverKill, Nile and Kreator. Since the "Deaths Embrace" demo recordings, 2001 marked the last breath of Necrotomie...
